Sixth GCC "Takatuf" exhibition kicks off

Muscat-- The sixth edition of “Takatuf Al Khaleeji” exhibition (GCC Solidarity exhibition) kicked off in Muscat Governorate today. The three-day exhibition constitutes a platform that supports entrepreneurship in the Sultanate of Oman and other member states in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The launch ceremony was held under the auspices of Sayyid Dr. Munther bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Chairman of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, and attended by officials and representatives of supporting parties and sponsors.

The exhibition is being organized in partnership with Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), the SMEs Development Authority (Riyada) and a number of private sector establishments.

The event forms part of efforts to empower small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and enhance their role in supporting the national economy, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

The exhibition sees the participation of more than 140 entrepreneurs from the Sultanate of Oman and other GCC states. It offers a diverse range of products that will contribute to enhancing the expansion and sustainability opportunities for related projects.

Students from Oman Tourism College get an opportunity to participate in organizing and running the exhibition, gain practical experience and develop professional skills.

The ceremony included a visual presentation featuring activities of past editions of the exhibition. It also included the felicitation of government institutions and private establishments that supported the exhibition's activities.

HH Sayyida Hajaija bint Jaifar Al Said, Founder and Organizer of “Takatuf” Exhibition, said in a statement that the exhibition maintains a constant mandate and a mission to empower entrepreneurs through ongoing programmes and initiatives that extend beyond the event’s duration. The event will also contribute to enhancing long-term growth of projects undertaken by entrepreneurs, she added.

A new initiative codenamed “Journey of Business Opportunities” was launched on the sidelines of the current edition of the exhibition, said HH Sayyida Hajaija. She noted that the initiative includes field visits for participants to wilayats that undergo active commercial activity.

HH Sayyida Hajaija explained that the field visits enable the participants to explore investment opportunities, build professional partnerships and learn about successful entrepreneurial experiences.

“Journey of Business Opportunities” initiative also includes interactive tours that highlight modern marketing methods, elements of success and project sustainability, said HH Sayyida Hajaija in her statement.
