Royal Decree promulgates Civil Society Institutions Law

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued Royal Decree No. (64/2026) on the promulgation of Civil Society Institutions Law.

After the same was presented before the Council of Oman.

Article (1) states that the provisions of the Civil Society Institutions Law, attached to this decree, shall be enforced.

Article (2) stipulates that those subject to the provisions of this law must adjust their status in accordance with its provisions within a period not exceeding one year from the date of its enforcement.

Article (3) says that the Minister of Social Development shall issue the Executive Regulation for the law attached to this decree within one year from the date of its enforcement. The Minister shall also issue the regulations and decisions necessary for the enforcement of its provisions. Until such time, the existing regulations and decisions shall continue to apply, without prejudice to the provisions of the attached law.

Article (4) annuls the Civil Associations Law promulgated by Royal decree No. 14/2000. It also cancels all that contradicts the attached law or contravenes its provisions.

Article (5) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on the day following its date of publishing.
