Oman Air launches inaugural flights to Tashkent, Singapore

Muscat: Oman Air has launched its inaugural direct flights to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, and Singapore, marking a significant step in the national carrier's expansion strategy to strengthen its international presence and connect the Sultanate of Oman with new and emerging global markets.

The airline will operate two weekly flights between Muscat and Tashkent, enhancing air connectivity between Oman and Central Asia while providing business and leisure travelers with more convenient and flexible travel options.

H.E. Wafa bint Jabr Al Busaidi, Oman’s Ambassador to the Republic of Uzbekistan, said the introduction of two weekly flights reflects the strong demand for travel on the route. She highlighted Uzbekistan's rich tourism potential, noting its deep Islamic heritage, diverse historical attractions, and four distinct seasons, making it an ideal destination for family tourism.

The ambassador added that the new route is expected to boost tourism, trade, and investment between Oman and Uzbekistan, while strengthening economic and cultural exchanges and creating new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

The Muscat–Tashkent service forms part of Oman Air's strategy to expand its international network and reinforce Muscat International Airport's role as a regional aviation hub linking Oman with key global destinations and markets.

The launch also reflects growing demand for travel to Central Asia, a region renowned for its historical, cultural, and tourism attractions. It supports Oman Air's expansion plans in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, particularly in the tourism, logistics, and investment sectors.

In addition, Oman Air celebrated the launch of its inaugural Muscat–Singapore service, which will operate four times a week year-round. The new route represents another strategic milestone in the airline's growing global network.

The Singapore service is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations between Oman and Singapore, particularly by enhancing business connectivity, trade, and travel between the two countries.
