Muscat: The Oman Football Association (OFA) has roped in the QNB Group as the official sponsor of the Sultanate's most prestigious football tournament - His Majesty's Cup Football Championship.
The OFA and QNB Group signed an agreement during a ceremony at the association headquarters on Sunday, sealing a three-year deal.
The agreement, making the QNB Group as the official sponsor of His Majesty’s Cup, starts with the 2016-17 season and will run through until the 2018-19 season.
Speaking after inking the deal, OFA Chairman Sayyid Khalid Al Busaidi said: "We are pleased to bring such a prestigious company to the association as a sponsor."
"QNB is involved in supporting football all over the world and we are very proud to have such a big brand associated with His Majesty’s Cup and to join our family at the OFA. This tournament is so important to football and to the people of Oman," he added.
In his comments, Saif Al Mani, Head of Retail Banking at QNB Oman, said: “The OFA is such an important part of the Omani culture, and His Majesty’s Cup is such a well-regarded tournament, we are honoured to be part of this partnership. We will be working hard to drive the tournament forward.”
"This sport initiative is part of the key CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) pillars that QNB Group supports in the societies operates in, through 30 countries, across three continents around the world," he added.
