Oman’s Fatma Al Nabhani advances in Lagos

Muscat: Omani ace tennis player Fatma Al Nabhani advanced to the second round of the $25,000 ITF Pro Circuit Governor’s Cup in Lagos, Nigeria on Monday.
In the first round of the singles competition, Fatma defeated India’s Prathana Thombare in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.
In the second round, Fatma will take on French eighth seed Harmony Tan, an easy 6-1, 6-1 winners over Japanese wildcard Ange Oby Kajuru.
Fatma will start her doubles campaign in the company of Ukraine’s Valeriya Strakhova on Tuesday, when the pair take on the Indian duo of Kyra Shroff and Dhruthi Venugopal.
The Omani lass also took part in the first Governor’s Cup last week, when her singles challenge ended in quarterfinals while Fatma and Valeriya lost in the semifinals of the doubles.
