Muscat: FIFA President Gianni Infantino has arrived in Muscat on a private visit on Tuesday evening in his first visit to Oman since replacing Sepp Blatter as the president of FIFA.
Infantino was elected as FIFA president in February of the current year after going head-to-head with Asian Football Federation president Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa of Bahrain, receiving the majority of votes.
The president of football’s governing body was welcomed in Muscat airport by Oman Football Association (OFA) chairman Salim Al Wahaibi and officials from Ministry of Sports Affairs.
The FIFA president will witness a Omantel Professional League match between Al Shabab and Sohar at the Seeb Stadium Thursday evening.
