Muscat: Omani ace Fatma Al Nabhani had a great day at the $10,000 Casablanca ITF Pro Circuit tournament in Morocco advancing both in the singles and doubles competitions on Wednesday.
In the singles, the Omani top seed overcame an early resistance from Russia’s Ksenia Kuznetsova for a 7-6 (3), 6-4 victory and a place in the quarterfinals.
In the last eight stage, Fatma will take on Romanian fifth seed Cristina Adamescu, a 6-4, 6-1 winner over Russian qualifier Daria Solovyeva.
In the doubles competition, Fatma and Spanish partner Olga Parres Azcoitia moved into the semifinals.
In a quarterfinal match, Fatma and Olga eased to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Anne Sophie Forget of France and Sara Lanca of Portugal.
