Oman committed to world peace: Alawi

Muscat: Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs inaugurated the “Guiding Fundamentals and Principles of State’s Policy” programme at the headquarters of the Diplomatic Institute yesterday in the presence of Sheikh Khalid bin Omar Al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service.
The Ministry of Civil Service has organised this programme for the third consecutive year in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by the Diplomatic Institute. The event will continue from December 26 to 29.
After the opening ceremony, Alawi said: “I was very happy to patronise over the opening of this programme, which includes a group of government officials from various state agencies.”
He told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the programme involves highlighting world issues as leaderships in the country should deal with all matters that would lead to peace in the world.
He affirmed on the Sultanate permanent keenness to positively contribute towards solving current world problems.
Sheikh Khalid bin Omar Al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service emphasised the importance of the programme, which comes within the framework of the quality programmes series that aim to raise the efficiency of administrative leaders in the country and provide them with the necessary knowledge to develop their practical abilities to be able to carry out the tasks entrusted to them in an efficient manner.
He added that themes of the programme are relevant to a number of aspects related to government performance and mechanisms of development.
It is worth mentioning that a number of papers will be presented at the programme, including a working paper on the foundations of the Omani foreign policy by Ambassador Dr. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Badi, Head of Human Resources Department at the Foreign Ministry, a working paper on “The Development of Human Resources Systems” by Fahd bin Ahmed Al Jabri, Director General of Human Resources Development at the Ministry of Civil Service, a working paper related to “The Reality of Government Performance and its Development Mechanism” by Ahmed bin Ismail Suwaid, Director General of Development and Quality Assurance at the Ministry of Civil Service.
Other papers will be presented in the programme, including a paper on “Economic Blocs and the
Sultanate’s Economic Agreements” by Sheikh Yahya bin Abdullah Al Fannah Al Oraimi, Head of Economic Affairs Sector at the Foreign Ministry, a paper on Political Media (The Relationship between Politics and Media) by Ali bin Mohammed Za’abanout Al Mahri, Head of Media Affairs Sector at the Foreign Ministry, another paper on “The Role of the Sultanate in Cooperation with Regional and International Organisations” by Dr. Abdullah bin Salim Al Harthy, Director of Economic Blocs and Dialogue
Groups Department at the Foreign Ministry.
Another paper on “Promising Economic Sectors in Tanfeedh Programme” will be presented by Said bin
Mohammed Al Zedjali, Team Member of Tanfeedh, another paper on “Importance of Media and Social Networking” by Hashr bin Khamis A -Manthri, CEO of Al Alama Marketing Company, another paper on Digital Transformation in the Sultanate and the Most Important Challenges and Solutions by Khalid bin Sulaiman Al Siyabi, Senior Consultant in the private sector.
The programme includes a working paper on “Protocols and Receptions” by Jassim bin Eid Al Sa’adi, Deputy Director of Protocols Department at the Foreign Ministry, a paper on “Consular Work” by Said bin Mohammed Al Shukaili, Head of the Consular Department in the Foreign Ministry, another on “International Law and Agreements” by Tua’ib bin Salim Al Alawi, Deputy Head of the Legal Department for International Agreements. The opening ceremony was attended by undersecretaries, officials from the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Civil Service.
