Muscat: Graduates Survey 2017 was launched by the Ministry of Higher Education to draft strategic plans for education, higher education, Omanisation and sustainability of human resources.
“The survey work will be start from January 15, 2017 to February 15, 2017 and target 62,835 graduates from 2013, 2014 and 2015 from 66 education establishments in the Sultanate, as well as graduates from abroad, said Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sarmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education in a press conference at the Ministry’s headquarters.
Dr Al Sarmi affirmed that the graduates survey is one of the basic tools that help in creating match between education outputs and labour market needs.
He added that the Graduates Survey 2017 is the second survey implemented by the Ministry of Higher Education represented by the Graduates Survey Department.
The 2015 survey had a positive effect on providing data, indicators and recommendations that serve education and employment sectors. He noted that the response to the 2015 survey stood at 34 per cent with hopes to increase this rate to 50 per cent in 2017 survey.
The 2017 survey is a national project that requires the collaboration of all efforts to have accurate data on the programmes, majors and skills that the labour market require from graduates.
He called for positive interaction with the survey by filling the e-form available on the graduate survey website.
