Muscat: Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) marked its inauguration by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Council of Ministers and Chairman of the ROHM High Committee received yesterday the maestro and tenor Placido Domingo, who was conferred by His Majesty the Sultan with the medal of honour in the celebration that took place under the patronage of His Majesty at ROHM on that occasion, in honour of the artist for his achievements at the international level.
During his current visit to the Sultanate, Placido led the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Oman in a glittering show that illustrated the high-class and international level of this orchestra, thanks to the patronage given by His Majesty for culture and arts.
Placido also sang in another concert some of the world’s most famous operas. Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, praised Placido Domingo and his global reputation, during which he won many precious prizes.
