Boost to roads in wilayats of Oman as ministry executes projects

Muscat: A number of infrastructure projects have been completed in the various wilayats of the Sultanate and work on other projects is progressing well.
The Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Waster Resources (MRMWR) continues with the development projects in the wilayats in an effort to enhance the basic infrastructure.
During the year, the Ministry paved a number of roads in the Wilayat of Al Buraimi.
In the industrial district a length of 12 kms was completed. Another 32 kms of roads in internal parts are 80 per cent complete.
In Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, the Ministry has paved 4kms of roads in the industrial district in the Wilayat of Mahda in addition to the design and execution of internal roads in the wilayat for a length of 20 kms. This part is 55 per cent complete.
The Ministry has also carried out repair and maintenance works of the internal road at Al Boun Village. This work is 50 per cent complete.
In the wilayat of Al Sinainah, the Ministry designed and constructed internal roads for a length of 10 kms and paved internal roads for 4.5 kms at Al Owaida in the Wilayat of Al Sinainah. The completion level of these two roads are 80 per cent and 90 per cent respectively.
In South Al Batinah Governorate, the Ministry has executed a number of road projects including construction of a flyover at Wadi Hunni in the Wilayat of Al Rustaq which is 98 per cent complete.
The Ministry also designed and constructed internal roads in the wilayat of Al Rustaq which are 90 per cent complete.
In the Wilayat of Barka, the Ministry designed and paved a number of internal roads, completing the construction of a road from Al Manoma area to Barka Water Desalination Plant.
In the Wilayat of Al Mussanah, the Ministry designed and constructed internal roads for a length of 6 kms in the industrial estate. Construction of package (1) of the internal roads for 25kms was completed while work is underway for package (2) of the internal roads.
In the Wilayat of Wadi Al Ma’awil, the Ministry has constructed internal roads for the length of 23 kms.
In the Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah, the Ministry has constructed internal roads at Al Bir and Shama in the Wilayat of Sur, repaired damaged roads at Al Gobi Al Suwaih; Saih Al Oula Industrial area in the Wilayat of Ja’alan bani Bu Ali, Jalan Bani Bu Hasan, Al Kamil Wal Wafi and Masirah.
A number of internal roads in South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Batinah, Musandam, North Al Sharqiyah, Al Dhahirah, Al Wusta and Al Dakhiliyah are under execution.
