Muscat: Australia’s Luke Fink emerged the champion at the King of Desert Drifting Championship organised by Oman Automobile Association (OAA) at Muscat Speedway as part of the 2017 Muscat Festival activities.
While Luke Fink took the top honours, Oman’s Mohammed Al Sawafi finished second.
The championship has attracted 27 racers from 12 countries, including the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, KSA, Jordan, Egypt, USA, Japan Czech Republic and France.
In the semi-professional category, Oman’s Mohammed Al Hasani won the first place and Yousef Safar of Saudi Arabia won the second place.
The championship was organised under the auspices of Sheikh Rashad bin Ahmed Al Hinai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports Affairs in the presence of Brigadier (Retd) Salim bin Ali Al Maskari, chairman of Oman Automobile Association.
Later during an impressive presentation ceremony, Sheikh Rashad Al Hinai handed over the prizes to winners.
