Muscat: Young Omani talent Mohammed Al Habsi had a sensational outing in the eighth and ninth rounds of the 2016-17 UAE Rotax Max Challenge at the Al Ain Raceway during the last weekend. Taking part in the Mini Max category, the Omani boy won the top honours in both the rounds after overcoming stiff competition from his rivals. In the eighth round, Mohammed Al Habsi won the first place after beating Theo Kekati by 0.126 seconds. The Omani lad completed the 10-lap race in 12 minutes and 39.013 seconds (12:39.013) while Theo Kekati timed 12:39.139. Jamie Day finished third in a time of 12:39.370. In the ninth round, Mohammed Al Habsi was once again unstoppable as he completed the 11-lap race in 12:31.174 while Jamie Day finished second in 12:31.299. Kamal Agha timed 12:33.945 to clinch the third place. Theo Kekati meanwhile finished a distant 11th. Al Rawahi stars Meanwhile, another Omani talent Abdullah Al Rawahi also won top places in the Max category of both the rounds. In the eighth round, Abdullah Al Rawahi timed 16:03.841 to finish well ahead of Amna Al Qubaisi to take the top spot. Amna clocked 16:06.493 to take the second place while Glenn Rupp finished third in 16:07.903. In the ninth round, Abdullah Al Rawahi completed the 14 laps in 14:30.241 while Amna once again settled for second place in 14:30.696. Sebastian Estner finished third in 14:38.860.
