Muscat: Seas will be rough and visibility will be affected due to dust on Sunday, Oman meteorology department has warned.
A few areas in northern Oman will be hit by rain and temperatures in mountains and deserts will be low due to the northwestern wind, the meteorology department adds.
“Sea will be rough along the coastal areas of Oman Sea and Musandam governorate with maximum wave height of 3.0 meters. Visibility will be poor over desert and open areas over governorates of Al Buraimi, Al Dhahira and Al Wusta,” the department added.
During the last three days, Khasab and Mussandam were hit by rain.
According to the department, while Khasab port received 36mm rain, Khasab received 26mm rain.
Recently, several areas in Oman witnessed snowfall as temperatures drastically dipped following winter rains.
Oman’s northern Musandam region was hit by hail and snow for two consecutive days. Snow also covered Jabal Akhdar and Jabal Shams of Al Hajar Mountain range.
On Saturday, heavy rains in Saudi Arabia transformed some neighborhoods into water canals.
According to media reports, submerged cars were left stuck inside tunnels and areas clogged with rain. Volunteering groups and civil defense vehicles helped citizens trapped in their cars, amid many warnings urging people to stay home.
“Emergency teams were sent to places flooded with water with equipped trucks to remove rainwater from the streets,’ media reported.
