Muscat: Oman national hockey team left for Malaysia on Saturday to undergo a ten-day training camp ahead of their participation in the FIH Hockey World League (HWL) Round 2 competition.
The FIH HWL competition will take place in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka from March 4 to 12.
The team departed for Malaysia on Saturday afternoon when K.K. Poonacha-coached side were seen off at the Muscat International Airport by Oman Hockey Association (OHA) chief Talib bin Khamis Al Wahaibi and General Secretary Dr. Khamis Al Rahbi.
The team will be training in Malaysia till March 1, during which they will also play five friendly matches, including two against Singapore national team. The other three matches will be against the Malaysian club teams.

Pool A: Canada, Oman, Bangladesh, Fiji
Pool B: China, Egypt, Ghana, Sri Lanka
March 4: China vs Ghana, Egypt vs Sri Lanka, Oman vs Fiji, Canada vs Bangladesh.
March 5: Ghana vs Sri Lanka, Egypt vs China, Oman vs Canada, Bangladesh vs Fiji
March 7: Canada vs Fiji, China vs Sri Lanka, Ghana vs Egypt, Bangladesh vs Oman.
March 9: Quarterfinals
March 11: Classification matches and semifinals
March 12: Classification matches and final.
