Blood donor drive in Oman at Ministry of Manpower training centre

Ibri: A blood donation campaign was organized at the Ministry of Manpower’s Vocational Training Center in Ibri in cooperation with Ibri Hospital’s blood bank.

The campaign is part of the training center’s corporate social responsibility with the aim of encouraging students to donate blood as well as educate them of the benefits on their health including saving countless lives who depend on blood.

Dr. Ashraf Mitwali, the blood bank’s official expressed the importance of donating blood saying that it saves lives and helps the bank stock up on fast depleting blood supply.

“The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of donating blood since it saves lives. It also helps replenish the bank’s blood supply for health establishments to use should the need arise,” said Mitwali.

“The patient isn’t the only one to benefit from the blood, but there are moral benefits as it is a noble, humanitarian act. The donor will also be much healthier as his blood is renewed,” he added.
