Muscat: An annual conference focussing on Oman’s global tourism potential is expected to bring hundreds of renowned firms and potential investors to the Sultanate this month.
The Oman Tourism Investment Conference (OTIC), organised by the Muscat National Development and Investment Company (Asaas), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, will serve as an annual gathering that will bring together key domestic and international players in the sector.
Around 400 delegates, including as many as 100 investors, are expected to attend the two-day conference.
Khalid Al Yahmadi, the CEO of Asaas, believes that people all over the world admire Oman’s economic diversification, along with its natural and monumental attractions.
“It’s high time to organise an annual gathering to boost the development of this sector, create grounds for cooperation among operators in this sector and facilitate those who wish to tap it, whether from the Sultanate of Oman or abroad. This will enhance our presence in the international tourism industry arena,” Yahmadi said.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet tourism professionals, executives from governmental and non-governmental organizations, domestic and foreign operators, travel agencies, tourism organizations, high-level executives of hotels and resorts.
These meetings will help them make direct contacts with potential partners in order to follow the news and trends in tourism, promote their businesses and share experiences.
The OTIC is scheduled to be held at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre on March 21-22, 2017.
