Muscat: Omani Products Exhibition (OPEX) Organising Committee of Ithraa on Tuesday discussed details related to the upcoming edition of OPEX, due to be hosted by Algeria during October 9 to 13, 2017.
The discussions came at the 5th meeting at of the Committee held at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).
Ayman Al Hssani, OPEX Organising Committee Head said : “Oman manufactures high-end products that are in demand internationally. Recently, OPEX has been to Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, UAE, Qatar and Iran, all key growth markets for Omani manufacturers. Positive feedback from the six city shows clearly demonstrates Oman-made products are valued by international businesses, retailers and consumers.”
Al-Hassani added: “We couldn’t be happier with how well the OPEX shows have been received in the Middle East and Africa. We knew there was a need for a large international Omani products initiative but the show’s success has exceeded all expectations.”
The Sultanate’s exports to Algeria in 2015 were recorded at $27.45 million, up from $22.27 million in 2014, comprising a rise by 22.7%. The Sultanate’s exports of polyethylene, aluminum wire, polypropylene and marble proving particularly popular in the large and growing North African market.
