Muscat: The lone female who approached children and schools asking for yearbooks has been traced by Royal Oman Police, the force has revealed.
The woman is suffering from "a mental disorder," according to an ROP statement, and had no criminal intent.
Last week we reported that parents and schools had informed police that the women had been approaching schoolchildren in the street asking for their school yearbooks.
In one case, she followed a child via instagram.
Royal Oman Police officers from Boushar had been investigating the claims and released a statement via the official twitter account earlier today.
It read: “Following the story that was published on Times of Oman about a woman attempting to enter one of the private schools and attempting to connect with the students without the school administration's coordination; after investigations we found that the woman mentioned suffers from a mental disorder and does not have any criminal intentions.”
