Muscat: Petroleum Development of Oman (PDO) is holding an astronomy festival in partnership with the Oman Astronomical Society to spread awareness and knowledge about astronomy and space sciences among
school students.
More than 200 students, aged five to 18 years, have attended the festival, which includes planetarium shows, astronomy arts workshop and an exhibition.
The festival will conclude today with a stargazing event scheduled for the general public at the
Oman Astronomical Society’s headquarters at Airport Heights, Muscat at 7:00pm.
The festival was officially opened at PDO’s Knowledge World by Dr Hamoud bin Khalfan Al Harthy, undersecretary for Education and Curricula at the Ministry of Education.
