Majlis Al Shura panel reviews Omani Penal Code

Muscat: Omani Penal Code was reviewed by the Legislative and Legal Committee of the Shura Council and academics from the College of Law at the Sultan Qaboos University on Monday.
The committee listened to the views and recommendations of the academics from the university.
This came during the committee’s eighth meeting of the first annual sitting (2015/2016 ), chaired by Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Zadjali, Chairman of the Committee, in the presence of members of the commission and its staff.
The academics made a number of observations about draft laws relating to white collar crimes, those focusing on public service, stressing the importance of studying the Penal Code and filling the legal loopholes, especially related to information technology.
