Muscat: Online gamers across Oman went head-to-head for five days during the Red Bull Player One online qualification stage from 18-22 December for a chance to compete in a live Final tomorrow (7 January 2016) at VOX Cinemas, City Centre Muscat.
Players battled in a real time strategy game, which challenges in-game heroes across a variety of battlefields, maps and game modes. Only the top 16 gamers made it through to thelive Final to play one-on-one matches.
Players must move quickly, plan their attack and outwit their opponent, avoiding their special skills, and then plan every move. Without the support of the team, gamers cannot rely on support elsewhere; it is every player for themselves.
First prize will be a gaming PC equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX950 graphics card and runners up will receive a GTX950 card to add to speed and power to their existing gaming rig.
Taking about the upcoming first time event, Chantelle Tavid, Regional Marketing Manager, NVIDIA Middle East said: “We are delighted to expand E-Sports in the Middle East on a professional and organised Level.”
The free for public event is being held inpartnership with Omantel, Oman Ministry of Tourism, VOX Cinemas, Power League Gaming, NVIDIA Middle East, Hi Fm Muscat, Hala FM and See Muscat.
