Salalah: A series of literary, cultural and artistic sessions will be organised as part of the 23rd Youth, Literary and Art Forum which was inaugurated here on Monday.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar in the presence of officials. The three-day forum is organised by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture.
Ahmed bin Salem Al Hajri, Director-General of Heritage and Culture delivered a speech during which he highlighted the keenness of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture to activate the cultural arena in the Sultanate through programmes and activities to support the Omani innovators and to highlight their creative experiences, locally and internationally.
The opening ceremony included a variety of performances that included a variety of Omani folklore arts. At the end of the ceremony, the chief guest of the event honoured the cooperating government agencies and sponsoring companies, in addition to honouring a number of distinguished personnel in the field of theater at the external level.
The Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar opened the exhibition accompanying the forum in Samuhram Hall, which included the presentation of paintings and a collection of modern literary publications of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture.
The Youth Literary and Art Forum includes a series of literary, cultural and artistic sessions in the fields of poetry, short story and drama, as well as presentation of working papers and discussion sessions in the field of Omani literature.
