Muscat: Experts presented papers on innovation during a workshop organised by The Research Council (TRC) on Monday.
The workshop comes within the framework of introducing the second stage of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) Innovation Award.
The stage includes the concepts of intellectual property, research mechanisms in databases, methods of protection, filing and registration of patent applications.
The number of qualified candidates reached 35 who have been selected from the seven centres from across Oman during the past period, as well as the three winners of the Falling Walls competition and the qualifiers for the finals of the award in Germany.
During the workshop, a different set of working papers were presented by a number of experts and specialists, as well as a visit to the innovation factory, through which participants were introduced to the services and successful experiences in this field.
The OCCI Innovation Award is one of the models that aims at enhancing cooperation and partnership between the private sector and various governmental and academic sectors.
