Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said yesterday issued two Royal decrees as follows: Royal Decree No. 39/2017 promulgates the Law on Organising and Protecting Sites of Aflaj registered in the World Heritage List after the law had been presented before the Council of Oman.
Article (1) states that provisions of the attached Law on Organising and Protecting Sites of Aflaj registered in the World Heritage List shall be enforced.
Article (2) says that this law shall be published in the Official Gazette.
Royal Decree No. 40/2017 on the appointment of two non-resident ambassadors.
Article (1) appoints Hunaina bint Sultan bin Ahmed Al Mughairiyah, the Sultanate's Ambassador to the United States of America, as the Sultanate’s Extraordinary, Plenipotentiary and Non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba.
Article (2) appoints Liyutha bint Sultan bin Ahmed Al Mughairiyah, the Sultanate's Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, as the Sultanate’s Extraordinary, Plenipotentiary and Non-resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden, Kingdom of Norway, Kingdom of Denmark, Republic of Poland, Republic of Finland, Republic of Iceland and Swiss Confederation.
Article (3) says that this Decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.
