Muscat: Al Kanz, the market-leading product from National Bank of Oman (NBO) designed to promote a culture of saving in the Sultanate, has given away a total of OMR59,000 in August’s prize draw.
The draw took place at the Ministry of Civil Service headquarters in Muscat. A total of 59 customers from across all regions in the Sultanate won OMR1,000 each. Each and every NBO branch had one winner in the August draw.
Al Kanz is an initiative that encourages people to save money by giving them the opportunity to win cash prizes without risking their capital. The scheme was enhanced in 2017 to ensure that customers from each region of the Sultanate are assured of a win and includes rewards dedicated solely to the bank’s Youth Banking account holders.
John Chang, general manager and chief retail banking officer at NBO, said, “Saving money is fundamental to becoming financially secure and providing a safety net in case of an emergency. This year we have awarded prizes to over 220 winners for their saving habits, and the best news is that, for the rest of 2017, there are 153 prizes worth OMR1,114,200 to be won. We congratulate the latest winners of this flagship scheme and look forward to giving away more life changing sums of money over the next three months.”
The Al Kanz account is a flagship NBO product that incentivizes customers to grow their savings with cash prize draws. Customers who maintain a minimum monthly average balance of OMR100 or above are eligible to participate in the draw. Opening an account is easy, the earlier customers make a deposit, and the longer they retain it, the higher their chances of winning.
