Muscat: A circular has been issued by the Ministry of Tourism to a number of travel and tourism agents in the Sultanate about providing tourist visas without sponsor to citizens of India, China and Russia who are residents or having entry visas for USA or Canada or Australia or UK or the Schengen Agreement.
Eng. Mohammed bin Mahmoud Al Zadjali, Director General of Investors Services and Quality Management at the Ministry of Tourism said that the tourist visa without sponsor for Indians, Chinese and Russians are within the regulations stipulated.

They also comes within the framework of joint cooperation and coordination with a number of relevant organisations including Royal Oman Police and the Foreign Ministry.
The facilities are the outcome of an initiative to facilitate tourist visas for tourists from the new tourist export markets. It is also one of the tourism initiatives of the national economic diversification program ‘Tanfeedh’.
As per the regulations in force, for a Chinese or Indian or Russian to get a tourist visa without sponsor, the tourist should have a valid passport for at least six months.
The applicant should be a resident at or having entry visa for USA, Canada, Australia, UK or the Schengen area.
The residence or visa should be valid at the time of application.
The applicant also should have a two-way ticket and a confirmed booking so that he can get the visa for one month against OMR20 fees.
