Muscat: Dr. Mohammed Saif Al Hosni, Ministry of Health's Undersecretary of Health Affairs, inaugurated the Ninth Muscat International Oncology Conference at the Grand Millennium Muscat today.
The Ninth International Oncology Conference is organised by the Royal Hospital, represented by the National Centre for Oncology, with 350 participants from the various health institutions in the Sultanate.
Forty eight speakers from 15 countries including Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, India, USA, Italy, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Albania and others attended the event.
The conference includes seven scientific sessions, during which 58 papers will be presented, highlighting many topics related to tumours, such as the methods of treatment and diagnosis of cancer, chemotherapy, cancer surgery, guided therapy, radiotherapy, nursing care and psychotherapy for patients with cancer during the treatment period.
The conference aims to inform participants about the latest developments in the field of cancer diagnosis and treatment, exchanging experiences with senior doctors from around the world, raising awareness among practicing doctors and medical groups about how to deal with cancer according to the latest standards, raising
general awareness of cancers and how to diagnose them, treatment and prevention
