The day saw Awasr recognising and appreciating the contributions of Omani women in the country’s development with special gifts. These women, who have well proven their credentials in the society and the country at large, were chosen for their pioneering roles in creating better services and facilities for their citizens. Awasr workforce constitutes 30 percent women, also honoured 20 female employees, who play significant roles in the company’s growth and success in various capacities.
Following up on its successful #YouAreOman campaign, Awasr created a special platform for 40 Omani women, including participants who symbolise the active roles played by the public in supporting and encouraging women from different sectors. The event, moderated by a Myssa Al Hanai, presented an interactive session with the attendees who had strong messages to convey to women across the country. Sara Al Abdali, head of Enterprise Sales, who was also present at the event, described it as an extension of Awasr’s corporate social responsibility to interact with customers on different levels and demonstrate its intent to empower women within the corporate setup, as well as the society in which it functions. She said, “As a customer-centric company, we have always strived to establish a familial connect with the society through our various campaigns and customer engagements. Omani Women’s Day celebration is one such. It is a display of Awasr’s empowerment program for women.”
Talking on the sidelines of the event, Issam Al Ismaili, head of commercial, said, “Awasr, since the beginning, has committed itself to uphold the cause of Omani women and actively support all government’s policies and regulations. Omani Women’s Day celebration is an expression of this support and commitment. We have always taken measures to ensure that our growth is suited with the nation-building ideals set forth by the government. At every step of our way, we have acknowledged the role played by women, not only in the development of our company as the fastest growing Internet service provider, but also in the larger goals of nation’s development, and we will continue to do so.”
The event showcased Awasr’s growing popularity as an integral part of the society.
