Muscat: Bank Sohar participated in the 14th Annual Cancer Walkathon organised recently by the Oman Cancer Association (OCA) at Al Qurum Park as part of community development initiatives under its CSR wing ‘Sohar Al Atta’.
The bank’s participation in the event is the culmination of its month-long support for the awareness drive, which included setting up registration booths at its various branches and hosting the association’s mobile mammography unit for free screenings.
Emphasising the bank’s commitment to raising awareness on matters of public interest, Munira Abdulnabi Macki, GM – HR and Corporate Support, said, “We are committed to enhancing the quality of life for communities and societies across Oman. Part of this focus is collaborating on initiatives that aid better health and generate awareness on healthcare options, treatment and early detection. The Oman Cancer Association receives our complete and unwavering support because it advocates all three in its fight against cancer. It has been accorded substantial importance by the Bank right from inception as its mission resonates with our objective to contribute to the development and well-being of the community. This is reflected from top management to our frontline staff who registered their support for the cause by participating in full strength at the annual walkathon.”
As part of its continuous support to OCA, Bank Sohar has promoted cancer awareness activities leading to the walkathon during the entire month of October, mobilising vast public support for the event at its branches in Azaiba and MBD. The bank has extended its support to the association’s various initiatives and provided regular and substantial assistance towards numerous awareness campaigns and outreach activities.
