Muscat: Salalah based export powerhouse Octal has taken its support for local communities to new heights in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The company executed a number of initiatives to promote early detection and support services as part of its longstanding commitment to reaching out to members of the public.
Ahmed Al Najjar, director – Government Affairs, Octal, said, “We have embedded community support as a fundamental aspect of our DNA. Over the years, those efforts have consistently grown and now range from employment and training opportunities to health campaigns. Our Breast Cancer Awareness drive falls in line with those efforts, highlighting Octal’s commitment to standing in solidarity with people across the Sultanate whenever and wherever we can.”
The company organised a breast cancer fundraising drive in support of breast cancer awareness specifically in the Governorate of Dhofar. An in-depth workshop was also held for its employees and their families in Salalah, providing all attendees with free health screenings. Additionally, Octal’s employees in Muscat joined thousands for the annual Oman Cancer Association Walkathon to help increase public awareness about cancer-related issues, prevention and most importantly early detection.
