Muscat: Muscat University celebrated yesterday the opening and launching of its operations in conjunction with the Sultanate’s celebrations of the 47th Glorious National Day under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Asa’ad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan.
The opening ceremony included an opening speech from the Muscat University which was delivered by Professor Yusra Mouzughi, Interim Vice-Chancellor of Muscat University, in which she spoke about the establishment of the University and its objectives of providing quality education in the Sultanate in cooperation with the British Universities of Aston and Cranfield.
This was followed by a speech by the Vice Chancellor of Cranfield University and a speech from the University of Aston, during which they praised the scientific quality offered by Muscat University and the strength of partnership and cooperation between the two universities.
Muscat University offers a variety of academic programmes at its three faculties, the Business and Management School, Engineering and Technology, and Transport and Logistics.
The opening ceremony was attended by a number of ministers and undersecretaries a number of businessmen and the founders of the University.
