Muscat: A number of passengers from Oman were affected following cancellation of flights to Bali over security reasons after a series of volcanic eruptions on the Indonesian island.
Dubai based, Emirates said: “Flights EK360/EK361 on 27 November are cancelled. Transit passengers bound for Bali/Denpasar who are currently in Dubai International Airport will be given the option to travel to the nearest destination CGK/Jakarta Soekarno–Hatta International Airport, or to their original point of departure if they so choose.
“Flight EK398 from Dubai to Bali/Denpasar on 27 November is delayed by approximately 9 hours and is tentatively planned to depart from Dubai at 0600 PM Dubai time. These dates and times are provisional and subject to the operational status of Bali/Denpasar International Airport (DPS). Passengers are requested to check the website www.emirates.com for the latest flight timings,” it said.
Doha based, Qatar Airways said: “Due to volcanic ash activity, Bali Denpasar Airport (DPS) is currently closed until 23:00 hrs UTC on 27 November, with flights subject to delay or cancellation.
“All passengers travelling to Bali Denpasar are requested to check the Flight Status tab on the Qatar Airways home page for the latest flight status information.”
