Discussion on investment in health sector

Muscat: Majlis Al Shura’s Office discussed in its meeting the report of the Health and Environment Committee on the study of private investment in the health sector.
It includes the objectives of the study and its importance in terms of advantages of investment in this aspect of supporting the national economy and creating new job opportunities for job seekers.
The meeting also discussed the topics referred by the government.
A series of letters from the Standing Committees and the members of Majlis Al Shura were reviewed, in addition to reviewing the legislative and supervisory means and tools presented by the members.
This came at the office’s fifth meeting of the third annual sitting 2017/2018 of the eighth term 2015/2019, under the chair of Mohammed bin Abu Bakr Al Ghassani, Deputy Chairman of Majlis Al Shura.
On External Affairs, the office reviewed the report of Majlis delegation participating in the Regional Seminar for Parliamentarians on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Plan 2030.
It includes extensive training for parliamentarians participating in the best ways to follow up national development plans and activating parliamentary roles in achieving partnership between Parliaments and Governments in the development work.
US move
In addition it aims to review the report of the delegation of Majlis Al Shura participating in the emergency meeting to discuss the repercussions of the decision of the US administration to recognise the occupied Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the transfer of the US Embassy. The report included details of the meeting, the proceedings of the meeting, ending with the final decisions of the Arab Parliament.
The meeting also reviewed the speech of the Secretary-General of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union on the documents adopted by the 40th African Parliamentary Union and the Committee of Women Parliamentarians, which detailed the documents adopted at the 40th Conference held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
