Muscat bourse continues recovery on local support

Muscat: Omani bourse remained stable on Monday with the MSM 30 Index closing at 5,376.35 points, up 0.51 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index gained 0.16 per cent to close at 838.31 points.
Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of volume and turnover. The top gainer was Oman Textiles, up 7.28 per cent, while Gulf Investment Services was the top loser, down by 3.16 per cent.
As many as 824 trades were executed on Monday, generating a turnover of OMR3.9 million with 14.9 million shares changing hands. Out of 45 traded securities, 17 advanced, 10 declined and 18 remained unchanged. GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR642,000 followed by Omani investors for OMR223,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR865,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index advanced 0.43 per cent to close at 6,624.91 points. Al Anwar Holding, Oman United Insurance, Ahli Bank, NBO and United Finance gained by 2.29 per cent, 2.14 per cent, 1.74 per cent, 1.09 per cent and 0.68 per cent, respectively. Gulf Investment Services, Al Madina Investments and Al Batinah Development declined by 3.16 per cent, 1.61 per cent and 1.35 per cent, respectively.
Industrial Index retreated by 0.22 per cent to close at 6,577.00 points. Oman Textiles, Galfar Engineering, DhofarCattlefeed and Raysut Cement increased by 7.28 per cent, 1.61 per cent, 0.91 per cent and 0.43 per cent, respectively. Oman Cement, Al Jazeera Steel and Gulf International Chemicals declined by 2.13 per cent, 1.45 per cent and 0.63 per cent, respectively.
Services Index closed at 3,076.55 points with strong gains of 0.91 per cent. Ooredoo Oman, Al Batinah Power, Al Suwadi Power, Al Jazeera Services and ACWA Power increased by 3.41 per cent, 2.50 per cent, 2.50 per cent, 2.10 per cent and 1.89 per cent, respectively. Port Services, SMN Power, National Gas and Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) declined by 1.09 per cent, 1.08 per cent, 0.34 per cent and 0.32 per cent, respectively.
