Oman Tourism College library opened to students

Muscat: Renovated and expanded library at the Oman Tourism College has been officially opened to students.
Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sarmi, undersecretary for the Ministry of Higher Education, inaugurated the library in the presence of Sheikh Khalid Al Massan, chief executive officer of the Oman LNG Development Foundation. Dr Abdulkarim bin Sultan Al Mughairi, the college dean, as well as faculty and officials from the college, also attended the function.
Al Sarmi congratulated Oman LNG for its commendable efforts in enriching the academic environment at Oman Tourism College. Al Massan reaffirmed the LNG Development Foundation’s commitment to contributing to community development.
Al Mughairi thanked Oman LNG for its support, and requested the students to utilise the library to achieve their academic goals and fulfil professional aspirations.
The entire library renovation project was funded by the Oman LNG Development Foundation, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
Wi-Fi enabled
The library is Wi-Fi enabled and now boasts of a host of world-class facilities, such as a search-and-work area equipped with 63 new computers, a state-of-the-art computer lab for assignments, training and conference rooms, e-readers, touch screens for efficient book search and retrieval, and a self-borrowing machine.
The library has a rich collection of books and publications, including magazines and journals from regional and international publishers. Publications that highlight various aspects of the Sultanate of Oman are other attractions.
Books available at the library cover a wide range of topics, including economics, banking, business, information systems, travel and tourism, hospitality, food and beverages, communication and languages, personality development and leadership, marketing, and fiction.
