Muscat: Firmly focused on Oman’s path towards digital transformation, Ooredoo is sharing its view on the implementation of Smart City applications, and the responsibility that comes with it, at the Sultanate’s leading IT Telecoms and Technology seminar, Comex 2018 held at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre from April 23 to 25.
The company is also showcasing the smart home concept that is driven by Ooredoo’s Fast and Superfast Home Broadband. Reinforcing its commitment as the Sultanate’s digital partner of choice, Ooredoo will be the digital partner for the Smart Cities & Industry Summit 4.0 with its Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) & Business Development, Abdulaziz Jaafar as one of the guest speakers.

Laying the foundation of the future, the Smart City & Industry Summit actively explores the possibilities and benefits of building cities on technologies such as AI and IoT to set them on the path of digital transformation and prosperity. Speaking on the subject ‘Our Smart City’, Abdulaziz will address the subject and discuss the challenges and limitations for the development of digital communities. A dedicated Ooredoo stand will showcase the company’s smart city initiatives including the Smart Utility and Energy meters, IoT and a General Products & Services area.
