Muscat: A seminar for Indian companies was organised by the Indian Embassy in the Sultanate on Wednesday, showcasing opportunities in different sectors in Oman.
The seminar was held under the patronage of Said bin Saleh Al Kiyumi, chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. According to the Indian Ambassador to the Sultanate, India and Oman have significant business potentials.
“The Embassy is making efforts to direct investments in Oman and India because we believe there is a huge potential that is untapped between these countries,” Indian Ambassador Indiramani Pandey said.
“Both countries have very good relations and our political relationship is exceptional, which we describe as a strategic partnership,” he added. According to Pandey, Oman’s and India’s cooperation in various areas are doing well and the relation is growing.
The Ambassador also offered Omani companies assistance, noting that the Embassy will help them as they seek to conduct business in India. “We are here to guide you regarding the infrastructure that you need for your investment,” he asserted.
He also asked companies to keep in touch with the Omani market and explore the possibilities it offers. He also thanked Indian companies for accepting the invitation of the Embassy to participate in the B2B meeting on Wednesday.
Expertise shared
Experts from different sectors, including the food industry, information technology, and construction and infrastructure, shared their expertise during a Powerpoint presentation about the Omani market. Also, Ranjit Edward from the Al Hajiry group discussed his experience in the information, communication and technology fields in Oman. Additionally, Salim Al Abdali, Business Development Manager of Oman Food Investment Holding Co,reviewed investment opportunities in Oman.
Further, C.R Lakshman, CFO of Larsen and Tourbo Oman LLC,outlined the opportunities and scope of the construction and infrastructure fields in Oman.
