Six illegal slaughterhouses raided in Oman

Muscat: Sohar Municipality raided six illegal slaughterhouses that failed to comply with municipal health guidelines, the authority announced online.
Sohar Municipality said in a statement, "The municipality raided cattle barns this morning. 62 kg of frozen meats in two locations were seized, as they were stored in unsanitary conditions.
"Six other locations, which were used as temporary butcheries and did not meet health guidelines, were uncovered. Six health fines were issued and those responsible face legal repercussions," the statement added.
