Muscat: Now road users can view the up to date traffic conditions of roads, thanks to the new update to the Royal Oman Police application.
According to Capt Ibrahim Al Kindi, "This project allows everyone to see the condition of the road, so to avoid congestion and road hazards and enhance traffic safety."
Among the new updates are the reporting system and the interactive map. Road users are now able to report various incidents on the road through the application, such as accidents traffic conditions, climatic conditions, road works, and even animals on the roads.
"The aim is to provide an accessible reporting platform for all users, including those with special needs, without the need to call the emergency police number," Al Kindi added.
Furthermore, certain documents that were previously required to be collected in person, such as the non judgement certificate, can now be obtained via email.
In addition to traffic services, the service includes inquiring about fines, direct fine payment, and renewal of personal and commercial vehicles and the technical inspection fee payment.
Capt. Al Kindi added that the application provides information about police services and working hours for service centres, a directory of police station numbers throughout the Sultanate, as well as how to access roads.
The application also provides visa services enabling the user to verify the status of submitted visa applications.
