Four arrested for kidnapping, robbing in Oman

Muscat: Four people were arrested for impersonating the police and kidnapping, robbing in Salalah, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has said.
Officials have said that the accused entered the victims’ home while impersonating the police. They then proceeded to steal wallets, cards in addition to kidnapping one person.
An official source at ROP said, “The Department of Criminal Investigation led by the Dhofar police arrested four people on charges of impersonation, robbery and kidnapping in the Wilayat of Salalah.
“The defendants entered the victims' home, claiming they were policemen, stole their wallets and work cards, and kidnapped one person and stole his property,” the official added.
ROP has called on citizens and residents to verify the credentials of those who deal with them before handing over documents or allowing them to enter their homes.
