Omanisation in industry, logistics sectors reviewed

Muscat: The Ministry of Manpower organised, yesterday a meeting to discuss the Omanisation percentages in both the industrial and logistics sectors with the participation of the private sector’s representatives and companies operating in the two sectors.
Salim bin Nasir Al Hadhrami, Director General of Planning and Development at the Ministry of Manpower presented the participants with a video presentation on the Omanisation percentages in the sectors.
The prescribed Omanisation percentage has been set at 14 per cent in the logistics sector in 2017 and 18 per cent in 2018 in the same sector.
For 2019, it is set at 18 per cent and for 2020 it is 20 per cent. In the industrial sector, 32.5 per cent in 2017, 33 per cent in 2018, 34 per cent in 2019 and 35 per cent in 2020. In the travel and tourism sector the percentage was 41.1 per cent in 2017, 42.1 per cent in 2018, and 43.1 per cent for 2019 and 44.1 per cent for 2020, he said.
The meeting also discussed the new Omanisation percentages, the facilities and incentives for both the sectors.
