Al Rahbi to lead Oman delegation at Arab League meeting

Muscat: Oman is set to participate in the works of the Ministerial Meeting of the Arab League at its extraordinary session to be held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League in Cairo today.
The Sultanate’s delegation will be chaired by Talal bin Sulaiman Al Rahbi, Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning. During the meeting, the attendees will review the report of the secretary general with respect to the mutual Arab Economic, Social and Developmental Actions.
In addition, the meeting will also address the developments of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area in an attempt to complete the requirements for the establishment of the Arab Customs Union.
However, further substantive discussions on specific issues shall be undertaken at the meeting, such as the Arab Common Market for Electricity and the Arab Strategy for Sustainable Energy 2030.
