Muscat: US President Barack Obama received His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, at Al Diriyah Palace in Riyadh on Thursday.
HH Sayyid Fahd is in Riyadh on behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, to attend the in the GCC-US Summit hosted by Saudi Arabia.
The two sides discussed Omani-US relations and means of promoting the existing cooperation between the two friendly countries in all fields. They also touched on several issues, as well as the current political and economic situations at the regional and international arenas and issues of common concern.
HH Sayyid Fahd conveyed greetings of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos along with His Majesty’s best wishes of good health and happiness to President Obama, the friendly US people progress and welfare and the bilateral relations further growth and prosperity.
On his turn, the US President asked Sayyid Fahd to convey his greetings and that of the US Administration and the US people to His Majesty the Sultan along with his best wishes of progress and prosperity for the Omani-US relations for the welfare and interest of the two friendly peoples.
The meeting was attended from the Omani side by Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, while it was attended from the US side by Susan Rice, President’s National Security Adviser.
