Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower at 4,165.97 points, down by 0.38 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 572.98 points, down by 0.59 per cent. HSBC Bank was the most active in terms of volume while Ooredoo was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer was Muscat City Desalination which closed higher by 3.85 per cent while the top loser was Shell Oman Marketing which closed lower by 3.85 per cent.
A total number of 286 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.49 million with more than 7.13 million shares changing hands. Out of 29 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 11 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR74,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR45,000 while Omani investors were net sellers for OMR119,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.19 per cent to at 6,712.65 points. National Finance and HSBC Bank was up by 1.47 per cent and 0.85 per cent respectively. Al Madina Investment, Al Madina Takaful and Ominvest were down by 3.23 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 1.09 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.45 per cent to close at 4,899.47 points. There were no gainers on Wednesday. Galfar Engineering, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Oman Fisheries were down by 2.67 per cent, 2.56 per cent and 1.82 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.66 per cent to close at 2,141.18 points. Muscat City Desalination was up 3.85 per cent. Shell Oman Marketing, Sohar Power, OIFC, Renaissance Services and Ooredoo were down by 3.85 per cent, 2.63 per cent, 1.28 per cent, 1.23 per cent and 0.75 per cent respectively.
