
Muscat: A total of 15 expats have been arrested for violating the residence law and "committing acts contrary to public morals”, Royal Oman Police has announced.
According to officials, the arrests were made in Sohar, with 12 women and 3 men being arrested.
In a statement online, ROP said: “The Criminal Investigation Department, led by the North Batinah Governorate police, has arrested 15 expats, including 12 women and three men for violating the Residence Law of foreigners and for committing acts against morality and public morals in the state of Sohar.”
Officials added that legal action has been taken against the accused.
