Omani businessman meets envoy ahead of Pakistan visit

Muscat: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Oman welcomed to the embassy - Mubarak Al Mahri, the CEO of BERBA. BERBA is a petroleum, civil and mechanical engineering services company based in the Sultanate.

Al Mahri visited Ambassador Ali Javed ahead of a planned visit to Pakistan, on the invitation of the Board of Investment. Al Mahri is expected to call on Razzaq Dawood, Pakistan’s Advisor to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Textiles, Industries and Production and Investment, on March 13.

“It is my third visit to brotherly Pakistan,” said Al Mahri. “I feel a close affinity with its people and admire Prime Minister Imran Khan as a national hero. BERBA aims to take advantage of the conducive environment and potential for business Pakistan offers, and further aims to establish its off-shore manufacturing facility to produce ‘Made in Pakistan’ engineering services tools for the local market with potential for export.”

When Al Mahri met Javed, the ambassador shared with him a comprehensive briefing on the strategic overlap between Oman and Pakistan. He also shed light on the complete spectrum of cooperation with focus on the recent visit by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, when he chaired the Pak-Oman Joint Commission alongside HE Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, the Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs.
