
Dead Sea (Jordan): Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Dr. Ali bin Masaud Al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry, vice chairman of the Supreme Council of Planning, chaired the Sultanate’s delegation taking part in the activities of the World Economic Forum(WEF) on the Middle East and North Africa in Jordan, under the theme “Building new Platforms for Cooperation” .
King Abdullah II of Jordan presided over the inaugural session of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and gave a speech in which he discussed a number of issues of utmost concern to the Arab region.
The two-day forum will discuss a number of issues related to new criteria for general education, the economic and geographic distribution of banks in the region, new platforms for healthcare, investment in human resources and cyber risks management .
The participants at the forum will also shed light on globalisation and the role of technology in confronting corruption, peace and conflicts in the region, the horizons of geopolitical condition in the region and the developments in communications.
The forum will also discuss the challenges related to water in the region, the role of women in economic development, the significance of data, the future of smart cities, the future of Islamic banking and management of solid waste among other issues.
