Omani ferry owners asked to be cautious

Muscat: As tropical storm Hikaa approaches the Sultanate's coast, the Ministry of Transport has called on ferry owners to check weather conditions before conducting trips to Masirah.

In a statement online, the ministry said: "According to the requirements of maritime safety, and based on the development of tropical storm Hikaa, the Ministry would like to alert the owners of civil ferries to take the utmost care and check weather conditons before operating any trip between Shanah and Masirah and to follow the weather updates from official sources."
