Morning rain over parts of Oman

Muscat: Scattered rainfall has been recorded over Northern and Western Oman, according to the Public Authority for Civil Aviation.

A statement by the Directorate General of Meteorology of PACA read: "Currently at 7 AM, the Governorates of North and South Al Batinah, as well as Muscat, are witnessing scattered thundershowers associated with wind."

"The rain is expected to continue over the next few hours."

Musandam and parts of North Al Batinah also witnessed thundershowers last night as active thunder cells moved over the area.

According to witnesses, wadis in Al Batinah such as in Al Awabi and Wadi al Suhtan, as well as Shinas and Barka, have begun to flow in the morning period.
